Vocational Service

The Future of Rotary Is In Your Hands

As business leaders, Rotarians share their skills and expertise through vocational service, one of the Four Avenues of Service. Our vocational service efforts can play a vital role in improving the quality of life for those hardworking members of the community who need direction and expertise. By participating in any of a number of vocational service activities – mentoring, career days, vocational awards, business assistance, or even talking about our jobs at a club meeting – we can turn our experiences into an invaluable resource for others.

Here are just some of the programs in which The Rotary Club of Rancho Cotati will be participating during this Rotary year:

  • Rotaract: For college students and young adults, ages 18-30, who want to make a difference; Leadership Opportunities, Business & Professional Networking, Social Connections, and Fun. Our Rotaract members are students at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA. For more information, please email Keith Riley, or call 707.291.7135. For additional information, visit the Rotary International Download Center for Rotaract.
  • Interact: Interact is a service and social club for young people ages 14-18. Rotary Club guides the Interactors in developing local and international service projects. Our school for 2009-10 will be Mountain Shadows Middle School in Rohnert Park. For more information, visit the Rotary International Download Center for Interact. Also, visit the District 5130 Interactive page for additional district related news.
  • RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards): RYLA is an intensive training program for youth ages 14-30. Talented young people attend a seminar, camp, or workshop generally three to ten days in length, organized by Rotarians in the local area. We will sponsor one High School Junior in the 2009-10 Rotary Year. For more information, visit the Rotary International Download Center for RYLA.
  • Junior AchievementJunior Achievement: Junior Achievement uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand the economics of life. In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential. Our Rotary Club will have 10 volunteers teaching JA programs at the Middle School level. Visit the Junior Achievement website for more information.
