Welcome to the Rotary Club of Rancho Cotati - the Club of the Future! Our international Rotary theme this year is "Building Communities, Bridging Continents," and since our founding three years ago, we have exemplified this theme many times over. In our community, we have partnered with the NOAH Food Bank, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Chambers of Commerce for Cotati and Rohnert Park, and local educational institutions (from middle school through college) via programs such as Interact and Rotaract. Internationally, we have "bridged continents" with Africa, via our Kitwii Water Project and Books and Balls Project (see the International section of our website) and will continue in this Rotary year with projects in the Bahamas and India as well.
I am very honored to be the President of this vibrant, diverse and passionate Rotary Club and I invite you to join us on any upcoming Thursday afternoon for lunch, fellowship and a glimpse into how YOU can help to change the world along with us. My personal theme for our club this year is "We Weren't Born to Follow" as we are no longer the new club on the block, and we will solidify ourselves as leaders in the Rotary community - working with our sister clubs locally and globally to tackle the most serious needs out there, such as polio eradication, raising literacy percentages, and providing clean water to every human being on the planet. We are also a "green" club, and want all of our activities to preserve life and conserve resources as much as possible.

If you are new to Rotary, or a seasoned veteran, we welcome you with open arms and need your ideas to make our club even stronger! You may reach out to me personally at kshoya@aol.com with questions or thoughts, and thank you for your interest in Rotary International.

We Weren't Born To Follow
Songwriters: Bon Jovi, Jon; Sambora, Richie;
This one goes out to the man who mines for miracles
This one goes out to the ones in need
This one goes out to the sinner and the cynical
This ain't about no apology
This road was paved by the hopeless and the hungry
This road was paved by the winds of change
Walking beside the guilty and the innocent
How will you raise your hand when they call your name?
We weren't born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
And that your saints and sinners bleed
We weren't born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
